TradeDesk brings trading to more people and platforms

Thanks to sites like E-Trade, more and more people are handling their own investing, trading and tracking their money instead of paying someone else to do it for them. Easy-Forex, a worldwide foreign exchange trading company, is making that even easier with its new product, TradeDesk.
Upon launch today, TradeDesk already has a desktop application and an iPhone application, with Blackberry and Android versions on the way, all designed to make trading easy, quick, and mobile.
Unlike E-Trade, which deals in stocks and options, Easy-Forex deals with currencies, crosses and commodities, opening a totally different sector to the average Joe. With the new TradeDesk applications and system, users will be able to track the markets with visual tools, make trades quickly from their phone, and always be on top of their investments.
Easy-Forex will also be releasing an API in the next few weeks, designed to let people create applications to run on the TradeDesk platform.
I have to say, as someone with a grand total of zero knowledge about money markets, TradeDesk does a good job helping users visualize and understand what’s happening. You can also import Twitter feeds, or Reuters and Bloomberg feeds into TradeDesk, to make it your one-stop shop for financial information.
The TradeDesk desktop application is Windows only, but given the commitment Easy-Forex is showing to support multiple platforms, that might change quickly. All the TradeDesk apps are free if you’re an Easy-Forex user.
Easy-Forex isn’t going to get the mass market the way E-Trade has, because currency trading’s not as sexy as the stock exchange. But TradeDesk is a great step forward and might convert a few people. Now all the company needs is a talking baby.
