Other upcoming iPhone features: Folders, better email, and more

During his presentation today on version 4.0 of the iPhone operating system (due out this summer), Apple chief executive Steve Jobs said the new release would have seven new “tent pole” features. We already covered the big ones in separate posts: The ability to run several apps at once through multitasking, a Game Center that will function as a social network for gamers, and a new advertising service called iAd.
And more announcements are expected soon. In the meantime, according to The New York Times, version 4.0 will also include the following features:

Folders, which allow users to organize their applications by category, rather than swiping through screen after screen to find what they’re looking for.
Improved email, making it possible to read email from multiple accounts in a single inbox and to open attachments using other applications.
iBooks, the e-book reading and purchasing feature available on Apple’s iPad tablet, which is also coming to the iPhone.
Improved business features, including mobile device management so companies can update or erase employees’ iPhones, and the ability to make customized applications available through a company’s own servers, rather than the public App Store.
